July 19, 2009: Savory and Sweet Chocolate Dinner at Piccino (San Francisco, CA)
Join Michael for an encore dinner at Piccino as he celebrates his birthday with a family feast.
For his birthday Michael has decided to build a six-course "comfort" menu around beautiful summer produce. Though nothing is set in stone, expect a lavish antipasti platter of cured meats, tomatoes, eggplant, figs, stone fruits, etc; a ricotta gnocchi in Grandma Recchiut's crushed tomato "gravy"; individual ramekins of eggplant parmesan with greens; a locally-sourced roasted whole fish with a fruit and herb compote, served with rapini; a cheese course with house-baked bread, and Michael's own ice cream sandwiches. Who knows what tricks he's got up his sleeve for his birthday...but you won't want to miss it.
