Each fall, my 3.5 year old son Jack and 15 month old daughter Sydney and I resurrect a family tradition of making Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins. This crisp, Saturday morning we began assembling our ingredients and realized we had no chocolate chips. So I rummaged through the pantry looking for a substitute. Hidden behind the cocoa was the last "tin" of Recchiuti Hot Chocolate pistoles from which my husband sneaks his late night dark chocolate fix.
The little morsels seemed like a reasonable and decadent substitute to elevate the muffins to a higher level. Jack & Sydney's eyes lit up as the dark mountains melted in their mouths. My husband snuck back to the muffins throughout the day. We all smiled as if we had discovered a secret treasure.
Our new fall tradition will be to make Pistoles Pumpkin muffins.

It was two years ago this week when my now fiancé Mark and I first discovered Recchiuti in the Ferry Building thanks to the careful guidance of my cousin Kimberly. Little did I know then, but I would become a devout Recchiuti addict. So much of an addict in fact that I wait with gleeful anticipation for each order to come and then savor everything that is Recchiuti, from the artfully printed labels, to the delicately packed shipping boxes, to the gorgeous chocolate boxes, to the chocolate angels within.
Mark actually pokes fun of me for my adoration of your boxes. I love them. I love the simplicity and texture of your small colorful boxes and the printed detail of the larger boxes. I love them so much that I refuse to part with them. So, in the interest of displaying that beauty, I plan to use them to help decorate my house for Christmas this year.
Mark and I are getting married in December and then hosting our families at our new house for Christmas for the very first time (I know, we’re crazy - but you knew that after you read how much I love your boxes). So, I will adorn your boxes with a simple bow and use them as part of our decorations. I believe that using these boxes as part of our display will be a simple way to bring what I love to those I love. So, I thank you for carefully minding each detail to your sweets so that your customers can enjoy each step of the process from tackling the postman for the box to savoring each bite.
