Originally developed during Michael Recchiuti's pastry chef days, these thinly sliced Granny Smith apples are soaked in key lime juice before being dried and dipped in semisweet chocolate. These paper-thin slices of fruit and fine chocolate are just as delicate as they are delicious and make the perfect light treat, teacher's gift, or after school snack.

Sat, Jan 1 at 12:05 AM "Hello Recchiuti Confections, I received my first order from you today ... great transit time via FedEx. I'm writing to provide some feedback. When I opened the first box, I was surprised to see what looks at first like someone hand wrote a note on the box ("I couldn't know if you ordered this one or not..") and I didn't understand what it meant; I thought it was an error until I realized that it was written on all three of the boxes. Since I planned to give 2 of the 3 boxes as gifts, I felt that if it confused me, it would likely also confuse someone else who received it. Then I noticed that two of the sides of the boxes had a powdery substance that looks like chocolate powder on the black boxes. Not a big deal at all for me, but again for a gift I didn't feel that it reflected the same quality as the delicious product contained inside the box. There was also a square paper card enclosed in the packing box that has what looks like grease marks on it. Also, I noted that the packing list paper was torn ... again, this was surprising and discourages me from wanting to give these as gifts in the future (even though they taste wonderful!) Inside the one box I opened, about 25 to 30% of the chocolate pieces were broken, all different sizes. All of the packing material looked as if someone else had previously opened these boxes but had perhaps returned them. If all of these issues are part of your packaging's "look" then I'd have to say I'm quite surprised. Your product is really delicious, but the packaging seems to let it down enough that I'd be discouraged from wanting to send it as a gift.
