Recchiuti Confections still sources local California farmers’ markets for bundles of fresh herbs like lavender + lemon verbena to create our signature infusions. Single-origin chocolates are blended together to create complex + unique tasting experiences.
And of course, we wouldn’t be Recchiuti without Michael’s signature Burnt Caramel. This smoky, whiskey-like flavor is woven into the fabric of our confectionary line, from Burnt Caramel Truffle to Burnt Caramel Sauce.

Both chocolate maker work intricately with cacao growers to develop desired chocolate flavors in beans and use traditional methods of roasting, refining, and tempering that create vibrant flavor notes you'll find throughout our confections like citrus, warm spice and lingering vanilla. Valrhona has also created a custom-blend semisweet chocolate exclusively for Recchiuti based on Michael's palette. The blend is filled with bold notes of red fruits, smoky tocacco and subtle tannins for a perfect earthy balance.
Recchiuti is proud to support Creativity Explored, Meals on Wheels, Scholarmatch, and No Kid Hungry: Share Our Strength with annual donations. Additionally, we are involved in annual events at the Ferry Building Marketplace, including Food from the Heart and The Harvest Festival that benefit Slow Food, CUESA and CCOF.
This year, we are excited to debut our latest Creativity Explored collaboration, Creativity Explored: Victorians. Since 2008, Recchiuti has been teaming up with Creativity Explored, a San Francisco nonprofit visual arts center where artists with developmental disabilities create, exhibit, and sell art. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of each Creativity Explored box directly supports Creativity Explored programs.
