In the nearly thirty years Recchiuti Confections has been around as a company, a truffle has never reached heights as high as this. Michael Recchiuti joined Astreas as lead chocolatier to develop the Astreas Performance Sphere, a refined dark chocolate truffle designed at the intersection of craft and human performance. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team of biochemists, performance specialists, and astronauts, Recchiuti and Astreas founder Shahreen Reza shaped a stellar product that brings together sensory precision and functional intent.

The result is a velvety dark chocolate coffee truffle formulated to support sustained energy, mental clarity, and cognitive performance. Astreas Performance Spheres were selected to accompany the crew of NASA’s Artemis II mission, carrying this work beyond Earth for the first time.
